Shu
Liu Bei
Rank: King of Shu Title: General of the Left [of Han] Historical Age: 54 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, The Secret Edict, Battle of Yijing, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by: Mikey
The charismatic ruler of Shu is best known for his belief in the people and his virtuous personality; whether or not such appearance is a cloak to hide a darker and more ambitious personality is another story. Liu Bei has the potential to unite a banner under his rule and unite the land, but he realises it is an uphill struggle, even with his talented outfit of advisors and warriors ready to aid him.
His difficult struggle to power began after the Yellow Turban Rebellion where he earned plaudits along with his two oath brothers, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu. Since then he has engaged the Emperor's unlawful abductor during the Campaign against Dong Zhuo, been betrayed by the greatest warrior in China and sought the death of Cao Cao, which all eventually led up to his rise to power.
Fa Zheng
Rank: Commander of the Capital District Title: - Historical Age: 39 Attended: Siege of Chengdu
Taken by: Justin
Fa Zheng originally went to Ba Shu to serve Liu Zhang, but found him to be a poor judge of character. Fa Zheng served him as an envoy to Liu Bei, and tried to convince Liu Bei to defeat Zhang Lu's invading army in aid of Liu Zhang. Fa Zheng saw Liu Bei to be a greater leader than Liu Zhang and secretly subverted territory in Ba Shu to be given to Liu Bei. He also planned with Xu Shu and Zhuge Liang the invasion of and take over of Cheng Du. Fa Zheng scored a tremendous victory when he conquered Loucheng by defeating the famed general Zhang Ren. Fa Zheng and Zhang Ren have since become intellectual rivals.
The brilliant tactician was also responsible for persuading Ma Chao to leave the service of Liang and join Liu Bei. Since the unfortunate and tragic death of Pang Tong, Zhuge Liang's opinion of Fa Zheng has continued to rise. He has even called Fa Zheng the greatest tactical mind in service to Liu Bei at the moment, a title Zhuge Liang reserved for Pang Tong.
Gongsun Zan
Rank: Supreme Commander Title: - Historical Age: 55 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Battle of Yijing, Yuan Shu's Defeat, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by:
The stern, yet charming former lord of Bei Ping. Gongsun Zan is said to have a firm belief in the effectiveness of a strong attack and within the courts of Liu Bei’s forces will often press for an increase in pressure on the northern front. With his experience as a warlord never in question, he has been given much responsibility and along with the likes of Zhuge Liang and Fa Zheng, lay the foundations of strategy.
The man was there from the beginning of the chaos, taking part in both the Yellow Turban Rebellion as well as the troubles with Dong Zhuo. With wars waging all around China it was not long before he locked horns with Yuan Shao and inevitably lost and would have died if it were not for Zhao Yun. After joining Liu Bei he was later drafted in as emergency reinforcements during the struggles in Jing and aided Guan Yu in repelling Wu forces.
Guan Yu
Rank: General of the Right Title: Protector of Jingzhou Historical Age: 55 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Tension in Jing
Taken by: KK47
The mighty Guan Yu is up there with the best warriors in the three kingdoms. His strong beliefs in honour have earned him much respect, not least from the likes of Cao Cao and Sun Ce, whom would no doubt employ him at the drop of a hat into their respected forces. He strives to do his brother Liu Bei's bidding, whatever the cost.
So much can be accounted to Guan Yu, such as his time in Cao Cao's employment, ending with the battle of Guandu where he and Lu Bu continued their great rivalry and he managed to kill the powerful warrior Yan Liang. His defence of Jing went rather unnoticed, until Wu attacked using espionage and diplomacy, and his defiant stand prevailed.
Ma Chao
Rank: General of the Cavalry Title: Prefect of Hanzhong Historical Age: 39 Attended: Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by:
Strong-willed, even arrogant at times, one thing is for sure Ma Chao backs himself to one day be the greatest warrior and general in the land and he has the potential to be so, assuming he can keep his ego and love to show off at bay.
He was convinced to join Shu after several influential figures in the Wu Wei courts, continued to misguide Ma Teng, his father. Seen as brawn, with little in the way of brain, his opinions mattered little and he ultimately decided to leave for greener pastures. He helps Shu in two ways: with his skills on the battlefield, and also his diplomatic value with Ma Teng’s forces.
Ma Liang
Rank: Chair of the Internal Affairs Title: - Historical Age: 29 Attended: Tension in Jing
Taken by:
Ma Liang is a staunch believer that war with Wu is the worst thing that could possibly happen to upset the status quo of the Three Kingdoms. He has been sent to Jian Ye many times on friendship missions and was the one that secured the treaty to split Jing evenly between the two kingdoms of Wu and Shu.
After Wu subverted Guan Yu in Jing, Ma Liang's ideals seem less and less appealing. He is in the process of losing political allies and is straining to maintain the peace with every possible means at his disposal.
Sun Ren
Rank: Queen of Shu Title: - Historical Age: 26 Attended: Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by: Lexi
Sun Ren is the daughter of Sun Jian and youngest sibling of the famed Sun family. In 209 she was wed to Liu Bei to strengthen the Sun-Liu alliance. This has been only somewhat successful. Sun Ren is loved by Liu Bei but is sometimes met with suspicious eyes, especially from incredibly loyal officers like Zhao Yun and Guan Yu. Sun Ren faithfully cares for Liu Bei's child, Liu Shan, and takes care of his household when he is away.
Despite this motherly role, Sun Ren retains her fiery attitude, and has over 100 female attendants, all armed and deadly.
It is a common joke that even Liu Bei is sometimes afraid to visit her.
Unlike other Queens, Sun Ren is an avid hunter, a sport mainly retained for the males of dynasties. She is a capable fighter and, along with her beauty, this makes her tremendously popular among her people.
Wei Yan
Rank: Field Marshal Title: - Historical Age: 45 Attended: Siege of Chengdu
Taken by:
The daring and often misunderstood warrior, dwelling from southern Jing. His personal achievements are great and perhaps the only reason he holds no greater rank lies within the mistrust Zhuge Liang has with him. He is brave however and would gladly give his life for his lord, if it were wished so.
Since he was employed by Xu Shu, of whom he has to thank for persuading Liu Bei, he has been a rock of a general; solid in defence and attack. Thus far he has impressed, and with many currently impressed, such as Zhang Fei, Xu Shu and Gongsun Zan, it seems he has a bright future, much to the disdain of Zhuge Liang.
Xu Shu
Rank: Chair of the External Affairs Title: - Historical Age: 36 Attended: The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Tension in Jing
Taken by:
Xu Shu is a more than capable tactician, strategist and part-time general on the battlefield. He owns a brain more adept at quick decisions, whilst at the fore of a battle. He studied along with Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong, yet out of the three he is deemed the least brilliant, but make no mistake, he is a force in his own, brilliant right.
Instrumental in the defences of Xin Ye when Cao Cao attacked prior to Chang Ban, he has ensured Liu Bei always has an extra edge to his blade. With Zhuge Liang, Lu Su and Zhou Yu, he helped formulate a strategy and a diplomatic understanding before the battle of Red Cliff.
In recent times Xu Shu has been the bane of Zhou Yu on the borders of Wu and Shu, preventing the mastermind of Sun Ce’s forces any chance of victory so far.
Zhang Fei
Rank: General of the Left Title: - Historical Age: 48 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Yuan Shu's Defeat, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by: Sam
Arrogant, fiery, but always getting the job done. Zhang Fei lives in the shadow of Guan Yu in recent times, however none of his great fighting skills and ability to lead his troops beyond that of a normal man has gone. He is best known for getting drunk at bad times, though often using that to his tactical advantage.
The great warrior has been there from the beginning and has led many of Liu Bei’s forces to numerous victories. His finest moment came at Chang Ban, when he stalled Cao Cao’s forces with only his small numbers in rear guard action. In recent times he has been helping his lord and brother conquer the lands of Shu.
Zhao Yun
Rank: Palace Commander Title: - Historical Age: 47 Attended: Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Battle of Yijing, Yuan Shu's Defeat, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by:
The part-time bodyguard/part-time general of Liu Bei. Zhao Yun is a complete officer, in that he strikes a fine balance between attack and defence, swordsmanship and scholarship and ferocity and refinement. His early career is marked with selfless acts, though recently an air of arrogance has begun to creep in.
With his younger age, compared with Guan Yu, he is beginning to be seen as one of the most powerful warriors in China, yet with the rising star of Ma Chao in Liu Bei’s forces, Gan Ning and Ding Feng in Wu and Zhang Liao in Wei, perhaps he has several rivals to find the pinnacle of the pile from.
Zhuge Liang
Rank: Prime Minister Title: - Historical Age: 34 Attended: The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Siege of Chengdu
Taken by:
A brilliant strategist and a more than able politician. Zhuge Liang has been at the fore of many of Shu's recent victories and does so with his almost unopposed brilliance. His self belief has never been so high and he debates fiercely in the Shu courts to get his own way; Mi Zhu being someone who often interrupts his plans.
He has many supporters, but far more enemies; most notably in the latter being his mistrust towards Wei Yan, his rivalry with Sima Yi and Zhou Yu, his dislike for Mi Zhu and a recent moment of jealousy, which unknowingly to Xu Shu has left the friend and fellow student of Sima Hui away on the eastern front, away from the concentrated eyes of Liu Bei.

Wei
Cao Cao
Rank: King of Wei Title: Prime Minister [of Han] Historical Age: 60 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Rise of Cao Cao, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, The Secret Edict, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by: Brian
The famous Hero of Chaos, Cao Cao is the cunning, self-serving, popular and bold leader of Wei. His struggle for power began when Zhang Jiao started the Yellow Turban rebellion and Cao Cao was called into service by He Jin. Cao Cao was also a central member, along with Yuan Shao, in the coalition that overthrew Dong Zhuo. Motivated mostly by power, it is doubtful that Cao Cao actually wishes to see the Han restored. The current Emperor is a pawn in his game, and the title 'Prime Minister' entitles him to do almost anything he pleases.
Cao Cao has had many victories leading up to this point, including the subjugation of the former lords Yuan Shao and Lu Bu. His power base is undeniably strong and enormous. His influence is far-reaching and powerful. It takes a few brave men, like Ma Teng, Sun Ce, and Liu Bei to shake up the game. But as it stands, Cao Cao is poised to sweep away all of them, and take whatever is left standing at the end, for himself.
Cao Pi
Rank: Prince of Wei Title: - Historical Age: 28 Attended: Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by: Monty
The second son of Cao Cao, and perhaps the most favored. He is the heir apparent to Wei, a position that grants him much pride and power. His entitlement to immense wealth and luxury has led him to indulge in the finer vices of life. Although he is intelligent and an able commander, a suitable heir for Cao Cao, he is regarded by some senior ministers as still a child. Cao Pi lacks the sense of strict discipline that has allowed Cao Cao to become the chief warlord in the land.
Cao Pi has begun to take up some of the commanding roles that his aging father has left behind. He has surrounded himself with able allies, like the brave Zhang Liao and the manipulative Sima Yi. Recently, he has been sent to the north along with his brother Cao Zhang and his mentor Sima Yi. They are there because the Xianbei Confederacy has invaded the North; Yuan Shao is in charge of defense of He Bei, but can Yuan Shao actually be trusted?
Cao Ren
Rank: Supreme Commander Title: Protector of Jingzhou Historical Age: 47 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Rise of Cao Cao, Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Tension in Jing
Taken by: Jack
Younger cousin of Cao Cao and stalwart military general. Cao Ren is the incredibly loyal commander to Wei, which owes much of its early success' to Cao Ren. Cao Ren was there from the very beginning, giving manpower to Cao Cao when he joined him with an army of a thousand men to fight Zhang Jiao. He took part in numerous campaigns against early warlords and was responsible for defending Jing after the disastrous battle of Chi Bi. He is the rival of Guan Yu and Zhou Yu in Jing.
Jia Xu
Rank: Grand Counselor Title: - Historical Age: 68 Attended: Rise of Cao Cao, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by:
An extremely pragmatic man, Jia Xu is one of the most respected advisors and tacticians in Wei, and one of the few men in the Empire that can claim to have defeated Cao Cao in battle. Jia Xu expertly navigated the hectic political environment after the Yellow Turban rebellion: he survived the fall of Dong Zhuo and protected the Emperor from Li Jue and Guo Si, and finally made his way to serve Zhang Xiu once Li Jue and Guo Si came to blows. Under Zhang Xiu, Jia Xu's tactical prowess defeated Cao Cao's superior army in the field, and later his guile nearly cost Cao Cao his life.
Despite those successes, Jia Xu convinced Cao Cao to accept the surrender of Zhang Xiu and began serving Wei. He has proven himself capable in Cao Cao's employ as well, defeating the Guanxi alliance with his stratagems, and helping to secure Chang'an. Now he is a senior official in Wei, his advice treasured and his talent feared.
Lu Bu
Rank: General of the Cavalry Title: Protector of Xuzhou Historical Age: 56 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by: Mick
Lu Bu is the most feared man in China. He dueled all three sworn brothers to a draw outside Hu Lao Gate. He killed both of his adoptive fathers, in both instances his intense rage was a key factor in his betrayal. He rebelled in Yan and betrayed Liu Bei in Xu. He briefly allied Yuan Shu in order to counteract Cao Cao's alliance with Liu Bei, albeit at the loss of his daughter Lu Ling Qi. Lu Bu lost Xia Pi mostly due to the defection of all of his key officers and the flooding of Xia Pi. Diao Chan abandoning him affected him mentally, and he broke under pressure to surrender to Cao Cao.
Cao Cao asked Lu Bu to submit, and he complied, much to the dismay of Zhang Liao, who was bound behind him saying: "Lu Bu you coward! Do you fear death!?" Cao Cao at that instant employed Zhang Liao, and soon after disregarded Liu Bei's pleas to kill Lu Bu and employed Lu Bu. Lu Bu has been a loyal and incredibly destructive titan and has served Cao Cao since his surrender.
Cao Cao tested his new weapon against Yuan Shu when he proclaimed himself emperor. He crushed Yuan Shu at the head of Cao Cao's army and slew the false emperor himself. He later send Lu Bu to Liang Province on the western frontier to deal with Ma Teng once and for all, but they were met with a violent rampage by the Stalwart Ma Chao, and beaten back. Lu Bu led an army on a tear through the west, taking Han Zhong in a short siege then taking Tian Shui immediately after.
Ma Chao retaliated by taking Han Zhong back, leaving Lu Bu isolated in Tian Shui surrounded by Ma Teng to the north, Ma Chao to the east, and Liu Bei to the south.
Sima Yi
Rank: Imperial Counselor Title: - Historical Age: 36 Attended: Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by: Bob
Sima Yi comes from a large family of accomplished statesmen and thinkers, and he is no exception. He avoided service to any warlord, even refusing to serve Cao Cao initially. At the age of 30, he finally joined Cao-Wei and quickly rose through the ranks. This was not entirely because of his skill, though. Sima Yi also began quickly currying favor with Cao Pi and used this to his advantage.
Sima Yi now resides in the north, a personal advisor and tutor to Cao Pi. He is tasked with keeping a careful eye on Yuan Shao, the northern tribes, and also Cao Pi's brothers.
Xiahou Yuan
Rank: Grand Commander Title: Guardian of the West Historical Age: 46 Attended: Allies' Final Push, Rise of Cao Cao, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Battle of Guandu, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by:
An undeniably powerful warrior and a famously talented archer, Xiahou Yuan was of the first men who rose to the occasion when Cao Cao called for the banners to unfurl against the tyrant Dong Zhuo. He was monumental in Cao Cao's rise.
Since joining his cousin, he's been a part of nearly every campaign and pivotal battle. He fought against Yuan Shu and Lu Bu to seize the Central Plains under Cao Cao's banner, and in Guandu to wrestle the power of the north. He led a portion of the fleet into Red Cliff, and currently is pushing his cousin's influence west, meeting harsh resistance in the form of Ma Teng's stalwart son, Ma Chao.
Xu Huang
Rank: General of the Vanguard Title: - Historical Age: 46 Attended: Rise of Cao Cao, Edict against Yuan Shu, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by:
Xu Huang is a sight to behold with his broad shoulders wielding his massive battle-axe. He was without a lord once, but when Cao Cao saw him, he knew that he was a man of worth; the kind he was striving to have on his side of the conflict. He was able to recruit Xu Huang, who also was able to smash Li Jue and Guo Si's camps and rescue the emperor, which was the first chapter in Cao Cao's meteoric rise.
Since then, he's been the pure image of a warrior in his service to Cao Cao, having a strong hand in just about all of Cao Cao's many important victories. He rode a horse beside Mengde when they raided Wuchao and won the day at Guandu. He is currently leading the attack in the west, angered from suffering wounds from Ma Chao in battle.
Xun Yu
Rank: Prime Minister Title: - Historical Age: 52 Attended: Rise of Cao Cao, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Red Cliff
Taken by: Kyle (Reserved)
For the longest time, Xun Yu has been Cao Cao's most trusted and favored adviser. No other man in Cao Cao's employ has gotten him to say "He and I are of the same mind." In all of Cao Cao's maneuverings and victories, both political and militarily, has been Xun Yu's advice, clearing the way for an easy path. It was on Xun Yu's advice and appraisal of Yuan Shao and his advisors that Cao Cao made the decision to fight at Guandu.
He's been involved with most civil affairs since Cao Cao came to power, and he was perhaps the most important asset to his rise to dominance in the north. Xun Yu supports Cao Cao in all things, but he is a staunch Han loyalist. He believes that to turn away from the Han would be a grievous mistake, and he has been in many (often heated) debates with other retainers that have suggested otherwise.
Zhang He
Rank: Imperial General Title: - Historical Age: 40 Attended: Battle of Guandu, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Tong Pass
Taken by:
A general of moderate fame from Hebei, Zhang He fought the Turbans under Han Fu, and scored many victories against Gongsun Zan under Yuan Shao. During the battle of Guandu, he defected to Cao Cao's army due to the destruction of Wuchao and the defeat of Chunyu Qiong. After Guandu, Zhang He was stationed in the west and played part in defeating the Guanxi alliance. He now serves as Xiahou Yuan's lieutenant, defending Chang'an from Ma Chao.
Zhang He is an intellectual as well as a man of war, favoring reading poetry and the Classics in his spare time. A cautious man, he rarely takes risks in the field, but he is often successful because of his conservative nature. His pragmatism has assisted considerably in the balance that is currently in place in the west.
Zhang Liao
Rank: Field Marshal Title: Guardian of the East Historical Age: 50 Attended: Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast, Yuan Shu's Defeat, Battle of Guandu, The Siege of Hefei, The Longzhong Plan, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by:
Perhaps the finest example of a perfect commander in Cao Cao's army, Zhang Liao is without defeat since joining Mengde, being stylized 'The Demon of Wei.'
He started his service with Ding Yuan, ending up with Dong Zhuo, then following Lu Bu after he killed the tyrant. He held a castle against heavy siege from Guan Yu, who refused to attack due to sensing the defending general's honor. When they were defeated, Lu Bu bent his knee to Cao Cao despite Zhang Liao screaming behind him, "Lu Bu, you coward! Do you fear death?" Cao Cao, taken back by the bravery of this stalwart soldier, recruited Zhang Liao's service.
He's been at many important battles since, and has been a stone wall in the defense of the Eastern Front from Sun Ce's massive armies. In the second engagement, he led 800 cavalry into Sun Quan's army of 200,000 and nearly claimed the young lordling's life until Sun Ce arrived to save him, but he won the battle regardless. He remains in Hefei, basking in the glory of his victory at the Xiaoyiao Ford, standing as a monument that so long as he lives, Sun Ce shall never invade Wei's lands.
Zhen Ji
Rank: - Title: - Historical Age: 32 Attended: -
Taken by: Minzy
Zhen Ji is the purest essence of beauty and serenity in the north, if not in the entire country. She was wed to her lord, Yuan Shao's eldest son, Yuan Xi, at a young age. Since then has seen the fall of Yuan Shao's power to Cao Cao, who's eldest son fathered a son a through her.
Despite still being married to Yuan Xi in nothing but status now, she is more the loving wife of Cao Pi, whom she lives with as a concubine. It is said that this insult has risen Yuan Xi to spur his father into motion against Cao Cao once again, and thicken the struggle for power in the north.

Wu
Sun Ce
Rank: King of Wu Title: Field Marshal [of Han] Historical Age: 40 Attended: The Wu Campaign, Conflict with Huang Zu, Sun Ce expands his influence, Yuan Shu's Defeat, The Siege of Hefei, Zhou Yu saves Sun Ce, Defeat of Huang Zu, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by: Adam
The son of Sun Jian is a great warrior and just as able leader of his people. His ferocity and ability on the battlefield has earned him much prestige. He first gained power after borrowing troops from the warlord Yuan Shu and attacking the lands of Wu and its surroundings. Upon gaining much of Western Wu, Sun Ce consolidated his forces for a few years before ambitions forced him northwards in an attempt to take the important strategic point of Hefei from Cao Cao. Ultimate failure forced a rethink and an alliance with Shu brought later success as well as some of Jing from the victories. It is said Sun Ce saved his brother, Quan at the battle of Xiaoyao Ford by sending a detachment of forces he could hardly spare to rescue his younger sibling.
Usually a friendly and welcoming, Sun Ce does have a short fuse, especially when it comes to his family and homelands. He differs greatly from both the other two major rulers, in that his talents do not focus on politics and instead rely on the use of his men and his ability to inspire a nation.
Cheng Pu
Rank: Grand Minister Title: Prefect of Jiangxia [of Han] Historical Age: 71 Attended: Allies' Final Push, The Wu Campaign, Conflict with Huang Zu, Sun Ce expands his influence, The Siege of Hefei, Defeat of Huang Zu, Battle of Red Cliff
Taken by:
Cheng Pu, along with Han Dang and Huang Gai, is one of the longest serving veterans of the Sun clan. Originally from Beiping, Cheng Pu was more adept at leading cavalry than his southern peers; thus he was always placed in the vanguard. He served Sun Jian against the Turbans at Wan and Deng and he was present for the defeat of Hua Xiong. After Sun Jian's death, Cheng Pu served Sun Ce in his conquests of Yangzhou where he achieved the most glory for his various feats. He then later saved Sun Ce from being surrounded by Zu Lang by attacking the encircling men alone, slaying many and beating back the enemy, rescuing Sun Ce. At Red Cliffs, Cheng Pu shared control of the army with Zhou Yu where they ultimately scored a great victory over Cao Cao and Yuan Shao's forces.
Cheng Pu is the eldest and one of the most decorated men in service to the Southlands. His position is second only to Zhou Yu, and his experience is considered a valuable asset to any campaign. He is often referred to by his peers as "Lord Cheng" out of respect for his long service and many deeds.
Diao Chan
Rank: Royal Concubine Title: - Historical Age: 39 Attended: Conflict in Xu, Edict against Yuan Shu, Cao Cao Tames the Beast
Taken by: Love
One of the great beauties of China. Once the handmaiden of Dong Zhuo, she manipulated the warrior Lu Bu into killing their master and ran off with him. During their time together, Diao Chan supported Lu Bu, pledging her love to him and being with him even during some of his most difficult times. After defeat to Cao Cao, Diao Chan remained with Lu Bu and travelled with him to Xu, during one of Sun Ce's attacks. During the night the camp was raided and the beauty was kidnapped and nothing Lu Bu could do would bring her back. Now a concubine of Sun Ce's, Diao Chan may yet have a role to play between Wu and Wei.
Diao Chan has many qualities which were brought to Sun Ce’s attention by his advisors. Not only did she possess the unique information needed to gain the edge on the mighty Lu Bu, who at the time protected the northern banks of the river, but she was also experienced in basic politics after her time under Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu.
Ding Feng
Rank: Commander of the Capital District Title: - Historical Age: 24 Attended: Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by:
Ding Feng is a relatively new face within the Sun clan's ranks. He was relatively unheard of, a simply commander of a small unit under Gan Ning's command. That is until he rescued Sun Quan at Xiaoyao Ford alongside Gan Ning. Since then Ding Feng has been given a decent rank and his own command. He is respected by Sun Ce for his service to him and his brother and he has won the trust of Sun Quan. Once a nameless soldier among tens of thousands, Ding Feng now seems to have a promising future.
Gan Ning
Rank: General of the Vanguard Title: - Historical Age: 40 Attended: Conflict with Huang Zu, Defeat of Huang Zu, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
Taken by:
Originally a pirate and a brigand in Ba commandery, Yizhou, Gan Ning is now a great general of the Southlands. He and his band of followers were forced to leave Yizhou by military pressure from Liu Zhang and he took his men to Liu Biao in Jingzhou, but he was poorly received there. Gan Ning then led his followers east to Xiakou and joined with Huang Zu. However, Huang Zu also treated Gan Ning poorly.
Gan Ning served begrudgingly for some time, even killing Ling Cao during Sun Ce's first attack on Huang Zu. This changed little, though, and Gan Ning had had enough of being dealt with in such a contemptuous manner by a man lesser than himself. He bided his time and when Sun Ce struck again, Gan Ning capitalized on the chance and assassinated Huang Zu, defecting over to the Sun forces Lu Meng and Zhou Yu both vouched for Gan Ning, and he was accepted graciously into the Sun forces. Since then, Gan Ning has proven a worthy addition to the Sun clan's military. He led troops at Red Cliffs and even at Xiaoyao Ford, though there was no victory to be had there.
Gan Ning is a great friend to those he likes and cruel man to those that displease him. He has wantonly killed many of his own servants and men because of such. He has even murdered others and taken their wealth simply because he wished to have it. His crimes have been ignored so far because his worth is understood to be greater than the extent of his crimes. Along with Ding Feng, he rescued Sun Quan and ever since his reactions in the Wu courts have risen even more favourably.
Han Dang
Rank: Imperial Guardian Title: - Historical Age: 65 Attended: Allies' Final Push, The Wu Campaign, Conflict with Huang Zu, Sun Ce expands his influence, Zhou Yu saves Sun Ce, Battle of Red Cliff
Taken by:
Han Dang is one of the founders of what would become Sun Jian's forces. He joined along with Cheng Pu and Huang Gai, fighting the Yellow Turbans and assaulting Hua Xiong. He followed Sun Ce into Yangzhou and took part in nearly every battle waged to gain control of it. From there he has taken in part in every conflict from fighting Huang Zu to taking Nanjun from Cao Ren.
Han Dang is a grizzled veteran of a chaotic age. His scars more than provide a true account for that. Despite his advancing age, he still insists on taking the fight to his enemies, engaging and slaying those who would oppose the Sun clan. He is still a force to be reckoned with.
Huang Gai
Rank: Grand Counselor Title: - Historical Age: 70 Attended: Allies' Final Push, The Wu Campaign, Conflict with Huang Zu, Sun Ce expands his influence, Defeat of Huang Zu, Battle of Red Cliff
Taken by:
The veteran warrior has had his fair share of battlefield action. He is an original founding member, fighting alongside Sun Ce's father Sun Jian on many campaigns and later joining with the little conqueror. Said to be rash and oftentimes aggressive in his tactics on the battlefield, he has built up a reputation for ferocity on the fields of war. His age prevents him from always being at the forefront and so in recent times his experience has been used in strategy and planning.
Huang Gai is one of the most influential figures in Sun Ce’s courts and takes a middle ground stance on the possibility of full blown war against Liu Bei’s Jing. He pushes for a swansong on the battlefield, remaining adamant that his body can produce one final moment of brilliance.
Lu Meng
Rank: Field Marshal Title: - Historical Age: 37 Attended: The Siege of Hefei, Battle of Red Cliff, Tension in Jing
Taken by:
Built up to be Wu's next great general. Lu Meng was never a great scholar until he met with the great Lu Su and Zhou Yu. Inspired and impressed with their ideas and methodology, he sought to learn all he could in the trade of tactics and strategy. It took many years to find the ears of his superiors, but eventually his thoughts and ideas would be put forward and into practice. An able warrior and an able tactician, Lu Meng is a rising star in Wu.
He has patience in abundance and a brain to analyse even the smallest details. He is gaining influence in the courts, but has yet to be seen as a strategist; instead he remains in the eyes of his superiors as a tactician, who can be used on the frontlines of war.
Lu Su
Rank: Prime Minister Title: - Historical Age: 43 Attended: The Siege of Hefei, Battle of Red Cliff, Tension in Jing
Taken by:
Lu Su is a skilled civil official and a genius diplomat and military adviser. When the Southlands were fearing an attack against Cao Cao, and most of the people urged Sun Ce to bend his knee, it was the voice of Lu Su that urged The Little Conqueror to stand strong, unbent and unbroken, and choose to fight Cao Cao and Yuan Shao's mighty alliance.
He was also the one who received the brilliant Zhuge Liang, and ushered into a tricky tactical battle of the minds to ensure that Zhuge Liang would see to it that Liu Bei would aid the Southlands and leave without any dangers presented.
