ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Name: Liu Shang Age: 35 Gender: Male Style: Original Residence: Cheng Du
THE PERSONALITY
Liu Shang is a natural born leader. He is very charismatic and often volunteers for missions. However while he is generally not ambitious and does not seek fame or glory, instead he seeks self-improvement in martial arts, strategy and philosophy. While he is considered a loyal officer; as in he would never betray for money or his own gain. On the other hand he would abandon his leader if he believed that they did not act for the benefit of the people. Like many Chinese generals he has the Confucian beliefs that the leaders should act with benevolence.
While he can fight, he is primarily a strategist. He will put victory and the greater good over smaller issues. This means that he can sometimes seem harsh in his strategy and also very blunt in his words. This can mean in some cases if he thinks somebody is not capable for the job he will simply tell them.
Yet while he can be harsh on the battlefield, in normal life he is generally a peaceful person. He does not distinguish people by their station or their power but by their actions. He also acts very calmly no matter what the situations. This means he is very hard to anger and get a reaction. As he does not show many emotions he believes that actions are more important than words. He still does act with kindness and compassion, helping those who deserve it. While he does not like violence, he dislikes bandits and others who cause harm for simple self-gain; he does accept that violence can sometimes be useful to help in the end. Plus for a random fact he has not only studied strategy, but he is also learned in music and philosophy.
THE APPEARANCE
Liu Shang is slightly taller than most though never has he been described as a giant. He has brown hair and brown eyes and pale skin. His face is slightly angular with high cheekbones, yet the most noticeable thing about his face is two scars which crisscross just below his left eye, which he often scratches when thinking deeply. These scars are not red but have silvered out and are not noticeable from further away. He is not especially thin or fat, nor does he look like he has many muscles. However while he is not very strong he is still stronger than he looks.
In battle he wears very noticeable armour. His shoulders are covered with plate armour to protect him from arrows and other blows from above. Below he wears scale armour which covers his torso and parts of his legs. Lastly he has a large jade belt which is covered with hardened leather tassels for extra protection in the vital parts . This armour has been specially crafted for him and fits very well, giving him protection and still a measure of mobility. While the armour is iron like everyone else’s, it has been specially coloured silver to be more noticeable. While this does make him a target it also helps to inspire those around him. Lastly he has a long green cloak which is thrown over his back. On it is a stylized picture of a dragon.
When not in battle he wears simple white robes, and the same green cloak which fully surrounds him. The rest of his outfit is that normal of a minister of the time; the silly looking hat, the fancy jade and so on.
Weapon
Yanos weapon is called a double-ended glaive (basically Wei Yans weapon). It is like a normal glaive but has blades on both ends, one facing forward while the other facing backward. Along the weapon are two dragons, one green and the other silver. Out of the dragons mouths spring the blades.
THE HISTORY
Liu Shang was born near to the city of Chang An, in a large town near the city Dong Zhou built. He lived there with his family- parents and a few younger brothers and sisters. Like Liu Bei he was distantly related to the imperial family, yet his family was wealthy but not important. Because of this, they educated him in many different arts in an effort to let him work for the dynasty and achieve great fame. While Shang did not care much about any office, he liked learning and so gladly followed his parents plan.
Eventually he grew up enough to join a force, however when he outright refused to join Dong Zhou simply because of all he had heard about him. And so Liu Shang began to travel around China, though he travelled he could not find any lord he felt was worthy. This was when Shang left China and travelled to the west, though what was left of Persia and even reaching the Roman Empire. He doesn’t often speak of his travels, other than he learned a lot and it was very difficult.
Some years later he returned to China, and had changed into the man he is now. He now realizes that without getting involved in the civil war he can never make a difference, and sometimes the only answer to a situation really is sometimes war. So now he has resolved to join a force, and make his own mark on the Three Kingdoms…

Looks good. History is a little vague, but you've met the requirements.
