ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Name: Zhao Han Age: 27 Gender: Male Style: Original Residence: Currently unsettled
THE PERSONALITY
Zhao Han is out for himself. Simply put, the first thing he is concerned about is what he can do to further his own career, his own goals. When given the opportunity, much of the time he chooses self-preservation over the 'greater good' if it puts him in too disadvantageous a position. That said, this does not mean that he is heartless by any stretch. He'll gladly share rations with the starving villagers whose razed villages his army might pass through, should he take a liking to them. But by that very note, his band, should they be short on supplies, will gladly pillage again that village for the last of their foodstuffs, if only to prevent his men from being distracted by growling stomachs. In a similar manner, should an accounting error be made in his favour, he is not the sort to point it out - though he is also not the sort to actively encourage his treasurer to fudge the numbers. He's more than happy to play by the rules, but should the rules be broken or bent by another, he'll not hesitate in doing likewise, if only to keep an even footing with his adversary.
The above, however, is of his public life. In private, he is a proper and respectful man, deferring to the elders of his family and others he holds in high regard - including certain betters of the liege he might serve. Of course, for those outside of family and his extended clan, it can take quite a bit to get into this inner circle.
He loves hunting, and often takes foolish risks while doing so, riding, or walking, into the forest alone with but a spear, sometimes a bow and quiver full of arrows - depending on his mood.
THE APPEARANCE
Looking at this man, he seems quite normal, of average height, a soldier's build, and clearly of some impressive stamina, built up over years of campaigning and pushing himself in all athletic pursuits that he'd involved himself in - including both stag hunting from horseback and foolish boar-hunting...on foot. Zhao Han is clean-shaven, with smooth cheeks, pockmarked by a childhood disease he survived, his hair long and collected behind him, to the shoulder when loose but often tightly coiled into the topknot common amongst so many.
When it comes to clothing, he prefers blues that border on grey, gold, and white for his robes and other outfits; though in battle a steel scale cuirass and laquered leather spaulders and chausses are his preferred armour. At his side is always a broadsword, a lance with the pennant of his liege at the tip. A cloak wraps around it all, coming just to his waist, pearlescent white with his name embroidered in black, that everyone might see and know who this rider or footman is.
The spear he carries is of sandalwood, an iron broadhead tip, tassled with white, black, and his favoured grey-blue. The sword is simple, the blade a full arm-length, unadorned save a small emerald nestled in the weapon's pommel.
