THE PERSONALITY
Li Li is an oddity that few have, or ever will, encounter. He is by all means a well-meaning, and honest man. He has a strong sense of honor and he treats others justly. That is not to say that he is out to save the people or some annoying shit like Liu Bei claims, though. Li Li is a man with faults, as it is so with all other men. Li Li is unable to take slights well, and he is a man that can and will hold a grudge for a very long time. Li Li also seeks to be acknowledged by others for his ideas and thoughts, most of which he finds wise and prudent. Unfortunately, Li Li gains the attention of others, but not at all for his wisdom.
Also, Li Li is pretty much cooler than all of you. /fact
THE APPEARANCE
Li Li is a man of unimpressive looks and unimpressive stature. Originally, he was never one to garner the attention of most people. He dresses plainly, in muted hues and low-quality cloth. However, after a most fateful and terrible event in his life, Li Li has now been cursed with a rather unfortunate ability to garner looks from passersby. Li Li's brow is permanently stuck in a deep, outrageously ridiculous scowl. The rest of his features do not retain this angry expression, leaving for an even more distracting appearance.
THE HISTORY
It is generally assumed that Li Li was birthed by a mother whom was impregnated by a father and that he had a childhood of some sort, but none of that shit is important or interesting. Moving along, Li Li was taken into the service of Han Fu in his younger years. He worked alongside great men such as Xun Yu, Zhang He, Ju Shou, Tian Feng, and many other names that hold a great amount of weight around Hebei and Zhongyuan. Li Li, while not as great as the men mentioned above, was a steadfast and honorable retainer.
As time went on, several of Han Fu's retainers left him search of more ambitious lords. Even worse there were several of these supposedly great men that remained but were far from loyal. Li Li was in neither camp. He remained in Ye in Han Fu's service, and he remained loyal and true. However, leal services is not nearly as impressive as profound feats in battle, or words more eloquent than they should be. And unfortunately, Li Li had neither of those advantages.
The day came when Yuan Shao prompted Han Fu to surrender his territory in order to "defend" it from Gongsun Zan for him. Li Li, Geng Wu, and Chen Guan all spoke out against this course of action, but Qu Yi and many others praised the idea. This, along with both Ju Shou and Tian Feng giving reassurances from Yuan Shao's faction led to Han Fu acquiescing. Geng Wu was then murdered for his speaking out against Yuan Shao; Li Li and Chen Guan went into hiding. After that, Ju Shou poisoned Han Fu and Ye was officially Yuan Shao's.
When Li Li heard this news, his face showed his surprise and rage. He has never recovered physically from the shock. He began to speak in the third person after that as well -- his mind clearly having suffered from the events of Han Fu's fall. Li Li made his way from from Ye, going south to Xuchang. He remained aloof, living a simple life, despite all the negative attention that he garnered. Eventually he tired of the constant looks and jeers and he moved to the outskirts of the province becoming the hermit that he likely should have become long before that.
He lived his life alone, miserable, bitter. He would only leave his home to receive news floating about the Middle Kingdom in villages and towns. Once he heard of Yuan Shao's defeat at Guandu, Li Li rejoiced. It was not until later that he found out that Yuan Shao had been allowed to surrender and Li Li's merriment faded. Still, Li Li has come a long way in the twenty-four years since his perceived failure in the service of Han Fu. He can mostly speak normally; however, he still reverts to speaking in third-person when he gets emotional in any sense. One would do well not to bring up Yuan Shao in his presence.
Li Li has decided that he has wasted more than enough time sulking. He has now moved back into the heart of Xuchang, a changed man from when he was there last. He still garners unwanted attention, but the man had grown used to the stares. He has decided that is wisdom should be heard, that the lords of the Middle Kingdom whom would listen to him should be sought out and rewarded for their prudence by his company. Whether they desire it or not is another matter entirely; one that Li Li gives no fucks about.
